Welcome to Penwaun

Penwaun is a traditional Welsh cottage set on the banks of the river Nevern in a historic valley of North Pembrokeshire available for you to rent.

The cottage is secluded at the end of a 100m drive so that you can enjoy peace and quiet in the gardens that command lovely views over the orchards down the wooded valley with the River Nevern winding it’s way through, with the ridge of the Preselli Hills rising out above the trees.

Penwaun can sleep up to ten with three bedrooms in the cottage and one bedroom in Penwaun Bach, the recently converted annex, just a few metres across the yard. Both Penwaun and Penwaun Bach are self-contained, self-catering cottages. In peak season, Penwaun Bach can be booked as an extra for full capacity. In low season it can be booked on its own for two adults. Whether you book both or just one, you will always have the outside space for your exclusive pleasure because we would never let either at the same time to a different group.

Nevern (Nanhyfer) is a small village nestled in a valley amongst woodland and farmland. It is most famous for the Norman church of St Brynach and the ruins of Nevern Castle. Newport is the nearest town, approximately 2 miles away, which has a selection of small shops covering all day to day needs, a sailing club, Newport Sands (a big open sandy beach) with its 18 hole golf course and several good pubs.

The beauty and charm of North Pembrokeshire is still unspoilt and these cottages are ideal for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing break. There are plenty of opportunities for exploring the local area and healthy outdoor pursuits. 300 Kilometres of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path are on your doorstep. The tranquillity is overwhelming and ideal for a romantic week in a quiet area.
